Capital Improvements Program Budget Forums in April, May
Montgomery County is hosting a series of forums for residents to provide input about the county’s “six-year capital construction budget.”
The forums are hosted by local citizen advisory boards and they will “help define construction and planning priorities for the various regions in the County as officials develop the Fiscal Years 2021 to 2026 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) budget.”
The CIP “includes costs for new, or renovated, major projects such as roads; public schools and Montgomery College facilities; water and sewer lines; parks, libraries, health and recreation facilities; and other public buildings and projects.”
(For more information, check out Montgomery County’s open budget portal and the Office of Management and Budget publications.)
All of the forums start at 7 p.m.
Here is a list of dates:
- Monday, April 22 at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Silver Spring.
- Tuesday, May 7 at Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Center in Bethesda.
- Tuesday, May 14 at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.
- Monday, May 20 at Mid-County Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring.
- Thursday, May 23 at Eastern Montgomery Regional Center in Silver Spring.
The regional citizen advisory boards will consider comments and suggestions from participants to include in the funding priority lists they’ll submit to County Executive Marc Elrich. Additionally, the list will be shared with departments and agencies within the county “for consideration as they formulate the CIP for their departments.”
