Cable Communications-Community Media Organizations Bill (Video)

In this MyMCMedia extra video, the Montgomery County Council unanimously adopts Bill 28-14, with amendments to redefine “community access organization” to “community media organization” and broadens the applicability of the Code to “community media engagement platforms,” which include television, radio, internet and social media. It also requires a community media organization to “develop and implement polices and programs that promote organizational sustainability and viability” and removes specific requirements for board members. During the discussion, Councilmember Nancy Navarro noted that MCM has done a “terrific job” at outlining strategic platforms to move into the future. Take a look:
