Burtonsville Shooting Ruled A Homicide

The body of a 63-year-old Burtonsville man was found Wednesday shot inside a recreational vehicle in the 14000 block of Old Columbia Pike, a Montgomery County police statement said.

Todd Mcdonough Pruit of the 14000 block of Old Columbia Pike was found after another man, who also appeared to be shot, entered the Silver Spring district station, at 1002 Milestone Drive, police said.

The man, who was not named by police, entered the station about 9 p.m., and police administered first aid. Fire and Rescue arrived and took the man to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries, police said.

The investigation led officers to the RV in the 14000 block of Old Columbia Pike. In the RV, officers found Pruit, dead from gunshot wounds, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore received the body and an autopsy ruled the death a homicide, police said.

The other adult male shooting victim remains in critical condition at the hospital, police said. Detectives believe that the two men were not strangers and there is no threat to public safety, police said.

The circumstances surrounding this shooting and homicide remain under investigation and no additional details will be released at this time. Anyone with information about this shooting and homicide is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
