Burtonsville Celebrates its Annual Carnival
The 24th Annual Burtonsville carnival runs from September 12 through September 20.
The Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department hosts the event that features 15 rides, and is located one block east of Route 29 on Route 198 at Star Point Drive.
“We got a new food tent. … Some rides are just for little kids and there’s some that are for older kids,” said Captain Kirk Risinger of the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department.
Risinger said this year the carnival has a new food tent where attendees will be able to get hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream, corn dogs, among others. The proceeds from the food tent will go to the fire department for future fire equipment.
The carnival is open from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. each week night, and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The rides will be open during the day from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the carnival’s community day, September 14.
There’s also family nights where children can ride unlimited all night for one low fee. Family nights are Sunday, September 14 to Thursday, September 18. For more information visit the Burtonsville Vonlunteer Fire Department website.
