Burglars Targeting County Restaurants
The Montgomery County police crime summary shows several commercial burglaries targeting restaurants.
A commercial burglary occurred at the Five Guys restaurant at 12238 Rockville Pike, Rockville, in the early morning hours of March 20. Forced entry; cash and property were taken. Police seek three men.
A commercial burglary occurred at Siena’s Restaurant at 12303 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, in the early morning hours of March 20. Forced entry; cash was taken. Police are seeking a man.
A commercial burglary occurred at the Ben Yehuda Café & Pizzeria at 1370 Lamberton Drive, Wheaton, in the early morning hours of March 18. Forced entry; merchandise was taken. Two men are sought.
A commercial burglary occurred at the Starbucks at 18240 Flower Hill Way, Montgomery Village, in the early morning hours of March 19. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
Bethesda:
A carjacking occurred in the 4700 block of Chevy Chase Drive about 8:14 p.m. March 18. The perpetrators took the adult female victim’s property and vehicle. Police in Prince George’s County made an arrest later that night.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between about March 18 and March 20. Affected streets included the 4600 block of North Park Avenue, the 4800 block of Park Avenue, Linder Lane, Maple Ridge Road, Custer Road, Glenwood Road, Huntington Parkway, Charlcote Road and Northfield Road. No force, six vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken. Police arrested a 29-year-old Silver Spring man in the Linder Lane theft.
Silver Spring:
A residential burglary occurred in the 8000 block of 13th Street about 1 p.m. March 15. No signs of forced entry. The victim believes she may have left her front door unlocked. Nothing was taken.
A juvenile male was the victim of an attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in the area of Colesville Road and East West Highway in the early morning hours of March 19. Three men of unknown ages are sought.
An aggravated assault occurred in the 1400 block of Fenwick Lane about 10:40 p.m. March 19. The perpetrator displayed a weapon.
An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 700 block of Gilbert Street about 10:12 p.m. March 18. Two women — an 18-year-old from Burtonsville and a 23-year-old from Germantown — were arrested.
Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane between about 6 p.m. March 16 and about 10:22 a.m. March 17. Force was reported in one event; vehicle parts were taken. Other thefts from vehicles were reported on Stewart Lane, Aquamarine Terrace, Turquoise Terrace, Industrial Parkway, Cherry Hill Road, Cloudberry Court, Scarlet Sage Court, Modrad Way, Ironwood Manor Drive, Sheffield Manor Drive, Gateshead Manor Way, Blair Road, 16th Street, Cameron Street and Blair Mill Way. Force was reported in one event, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash, property, and vehicle parts were taken.
An attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Hillandale Beer & Wine at 10117 New Hampshire Ave. between about 9:30 p.m. March 18 and about 11 a.m. March 19.
A residential burglary occurred in the 15800 block of Oursler Road about 12:30 p.m. March 15. Forced entry; property was taken. A 21-year-old Burtonsville man was arrested.
Wheaton:
A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 1900 block of Randolph Road about 7:45 a.m. March 17. A 15- to 17-year-old male assaulted the juvenile male victim and took his property.
An aggravated assault occurred in the 12000 block of Georgia Avenue about 10:30 a.m. March 17. Police arrested a 57-year-old Joppa man.
An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 1100 block of University Boulevard between about 12 p.m. March 17 and about 7:13 p.m. March 20.
Germantown:
Two residential burglaries occurred in the following areas:
- In the 100 block of Drumcastle Court in the early morning hours of March 16. Forced entry; property was taken.
- In the 11400 block of Honeybear Lane between about 3 p.m. and about 7 p.m. March 19. Forced entry; property was taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between about 6 p.m. March 17 and about 10:30 a.m. March 18. Affected streets included Mill Pond Terrace, Appledowre Circle and Ledbury Way. No force, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.
An aggravated assault occurred in the 9400 block of Holsey Road about 12:10 p.m. March 15. Police are seeking a man between the ages of 20 to 29.
An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 12500 block of Great Park Circle about 11 p.m. March 17. The suspect displayed a weapon.
An armed robbery occurred in the area of Crystal Rock Drive and Black Saddle Lane about 2:15 p.m. March 20. The perpetrator displayed a weapon and took the adult female victim’s cash and property.
An aggravated assault occurred in the 12800 block of Wisteria Drive about 7:23 p.m. March 20. The suspect assaulted the adult male victim.
An armed robbery of a food delivery driver occurred in the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive in the early morning hours of March 22. Two perpetrators involved; one displayed a weapon. Both assaulted the adult male victim and took cash and property.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 13 and March 18. Affected streets included Dairymaid Drive, Steeple Court, Whistle Gate Terrace and Furlong Way. Force was reported in one event, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.
A vehicle theft occurred in the 100 block of Steeple Court between about 11 p.m. March 17 and about 12 p.m. March 18. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered March 20.
Montgomery Village:
A residential burglary occurred in the 18700 block of Walkers Choice Road between about 7 p.m. March 16 and about 5:10 p.m. March 19. Forced entry; property was taken.
Two thefts from vehicles occurred: one theft in the 18700 block of Nathans Place and one theft in the 18500 block of Quail Valley Boulevard between about 9:30 p.m. March 17 and about 6 p.m. March 18. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicles; property was taken.
