Bullying Awareness Month
The Montgomery County Council on Oct. 1 continued its efforts to prevent bullying—both in schools and in the workplace—when it recognized Bullying Prevention Month. Councilmember Valerie Ervin (second from left) was among those who spoke about increasing awareness about the lifelong impacts of bullying.
Also at the ceremonies in Rockville were, left to right: James Stowe, director of the County’s Office of Human Rights; Michael Scarano of Rocking the Rage—a non-profit organization centered on creating a national shift toward refocusing attention on kindness; and Mirin Phool, founder of the Kaur Foundation, which aims to promote cultural diversity and create awareness of the Sikh identity, heritage and secular values.
