Bulldozing White Flint (PHOTO)
Bulldozers are tearing down a bit of Montgomery County history to make way for a development that mixes residential, retail and restaurant space with offices and parks. The Montgomery County Council approved plans for what they call smart growth; a more walkable community that’s close to the Metro with parks and walking trails and buildings of up to 30 stories high.
Demolition at White Flint started in early July, but there is one holdout. Lord and Taylor is in the middle of a lawsuit over their lease and remains open.
