Books Wanted
The city of Gaithersburg is partnering with Reading Tree to encourage the donation of books both at the Gaithersburg Book Festival and at bins located throughout the city. All books will be donated to students and their families in Gaithersburg Title I schools.
Bring used books to the Gaithersburg Book Festival on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and drop them off at the Community Services Educational Enrichment Committee booth. You may also purchase a new book to donate while shopping at the on-site Politics and Prose book sales tent.
Throughout the year, new or gently used books may be placed in donation bins located throughout the city. They can be found at:
- Casey Community Center, 810 South Frederick Avenue
- The Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road
- The Activity Center at Bohrer Park, Summit Hall Farm, 506 South Frederick Avenue
This reading partnership is coordinated by the city’s Educational Enrichment Committee. Volunteers will be on hand at the Book Festival to share information about Gaithersburg’s ongoing, collaborative efforts with local schools. For more information contact the city’s Community Services Division at 301.258.6395 or visit www.gaithersburgmd.gov/communityservices.
