Bond Revoked for Security Guard in Richard Montgomery High School Case

Mark Yantsos | MCPD

The bail has been revoked for a 57-year-old high school security guard who was charged with having sex with a 17-year-old student, according to documents filed in Montgomery County District Court.

Mark Christopher Yantsos violated his bail conditions by visiting the girl in late April and early May, the documents say. On May 2, Yantsos and the girl were together for about five hours, which led to the two having sex, according to the documents, titled “State’s Emergency Motion to Revoke Bond and Request for Warrant.”

Yantsos, a security chief at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, was charged April 6. On April 10, he posted a $75,000 bond, secured by property, for his release, according to the documents. In addition to not seeing the girl, Yantsos was required not to contact minor children and wear a GPS monitor.

Yantsos was charged with sex abuse with a minor and a fourth-degree sexual offense with vaginal intercourse by person in authority.

Online records say a warrant has been issued for Yantsos.
