Body Pulled from Gaithersburg Pond

Montgomery County police are investigating a suspicious death in Gaithersburg.

Police were called to a pond near the entrance of the Nike Missile Park in the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. on July 21 after a passersby reported a body in the pond.

Police and fire-rescue units located and recovered the body of an adult male who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

Investigators have learned that the Maryland-National Capital Park Police responded to this location on the evening of July 19 after someone reported finding clothes near the pond. The clothes were recovered and investigators from both agencies are working to determine if the two incidents are related, according to Montgomery County police.

Police have also released photos of the man’s clothes and tattoos in hopes someone will recognize them. You can view the photos here: http://www.mymcpnews.com/2013/07/21/detectives-seek-help-in-identifying-deceased-man/
