Bob Moses, Danny Glover Attend Rally Hosted by Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez
Thursday night’s benefit for Democracy Summer Maryland 2019 had a couple of high-profile names on the stage — Rep. Jamie Raskin and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — and a couple of high-profile names in the audience, too.
The Silver Spring event drew about 725 people, including civil rights activist Bob Moses and actor Danny Glover.
Moses is known for his work as a leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee on voter education and registration in Mississippi during the Civil Rights movement, and co-founding the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party.
Glover is also a film director and political activist. He is known for his lead role in the Lethal Weapon film series, and The Color Purple.
