Blog: We’re Here for You, Your Team, and Your Business!

We are often asked what does a Chamber of Commerce do? In short, a Chamber is a form of business network, a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses. Essentially, we create an environment in which businesses can prosper.

One of the many benefits from being associated with the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) is interacting with the members, other professionals, and people in the community. Our members do business with each other because they want to; not because they’re required to make some monthly quota. This attitude comes from the heart.

Members also look out for each other like family. Just like any extended family, you’ll find those who are quiet, boisterous, lively, shy, funny, goofy, brainiacs, etc. Excellent working relationships and true friendships have developed. Yes, friendships.

A friend will have your back, admire your success, be supportive, give you time, laugh or cry with you, and so much more. Yes, I’ve seen all of that from Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber members.

We all have responsibilities, but it’s the people around us that create balance, so our heads don’t explode. It’s friends and good people that make our day brighter. For others, you might be the brightness in their day.

At a time when there is so much uncertainty, I believe this resonates even more so today.

The GGCC is always here for you.

  • We foster business-to-business and business-to-consumer relationships by providing our members with opportunities to build business relationships through our monthly business networking events and special events.
  • We possess a powerful voice for legislative advocacy and activism for our members. This ranges from county to state legislative matters such as creating a strong economic climate, increasing transportation capacity, zoning issues and more.
  • As an organization, we are committed to representing the interests and goals of our members and collaborates with other business and chamber organizations to promote the economic stability for the region and community as a whole.
  • The GGCC stays abreast of the pandemic funding packages available to all businesses and continues to work with our Federal, State and County elected officials to help keep our business community informed throughout this health crisis.

The GGCC is happy to see members of our organization getting back to business and currently open with guidelines in place. A list of businesses and services is easy to access on our website at https://bit.ly/3iQvHsg.
