The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Announce Four 2020 Scholarships.

Deadline for All Spring 2020 Scholarship Applications:

Delegate Pam Queen and Delegate Lesley Lopez Community Service Scholarships

 

In 2018, the Patuxent River (MD) Chapter established the Delegate Pamela Queen Community Service Scholarship. PRC and Delegate Pam Queen may award up to $1,500.00 in scholarship awards to one or more high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2020. Students must reside in Delegate Queen’s Legislative District 14 and demonstrate academic achievement and significant community service. In 2020, The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter established the Delegate Lesley Lopez Community Service Scholarship. PRC and Delegate Lopez may award up to $3,000.00 in scholarship awards to one or more high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2020. Students must reside in Delegate Lopez’s Legislative District 39 and demonstrate academic achievement and significant community service. Go to http://mdelect.net to determine eligibility.

Patuxent River (MD) Links HBCU STEM Merit Scholarship

Under the National Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Initiative of The Links, Incorporated, PRC established the HBCU Merit Scholarship to support efforts to increase the graduation rate of HBCU students seeking degrees in sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. The organization may award up to $4,000.00 in scholarship funds for academic achievement to one or more students graduating from high school in the spring of 2020.

G.E.M.S. Scholarship

PRC carries out the “Cultivating Young Girls into G.E.M.S.: Global-minded, Empowered, and Motivated for Success” (G.E.M.S) Program which focuses on developing young ladies by incorporating the work of The Links, Incorporated’s program facets (Services to Youth, Arts, National Trends & Services, International Trends and Services, and Health & Human Services) into one umbrella program. G.E.M.S. graduating from high school in the spring of 2020 that meet the eligibility criteria may apply for the G.E.M.S. scholarship. PRC may award one $2,000.00 scholarship.

The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, under the leadership of  President Ann Everett, is a group of fifty-seven distinguished women, diverse in age and background, who share a common desire to effectively serve our community. The members are accomplished women who are leaders in their respective career fields of law, business, medicine, education, and health. The main focus of the organization is to serve the community while fostering collaboration with local leaders and businesses who share the same goal of building a strong foundation for young girls to develop into leaders of the future.
