Blog: Infinite Bridge Named the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber’s Small Business of the Year
The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber (GGCC) awarded Infinite Bridge as the recipient of the 14th Annual Small Business of the Year Award (SBY) on December 3, 2020; at the Chamber’s first-ever virtual gala. The award was presented by Aj Nwoga with M&T Bank.
The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes small businesses, which are a vital part of our economy and community. The award is presented to the small business that demonstrates success, community involvement, and excellent customer relations.
Infinite Bridge, as an independent computer consulting firm, has been around officially since around 2002. It was previously known as Support of the Nerds. They bridge the gap between your business and technology. They are a managed service provider, providing everything IT – comprehensive support agreements covering end-users, servers, networks, phones, security, compliance, disaster prevention and recovery, websites, email, video surveillance, on-site staff, contract and vendor management, as well as IT management and strategic planning.
“It’s important to take a moment to celebrate small business owners,” said Marilyn Balcombe, GGCC President / CEO. “We’ve all been through a tough year, and our small businesses have really worked hard to stay in business and remain relevant in today’s economy. Infinite Bridge is a perfect example of everything that is right with small business. We congratulate Cliff Peterson and Infinite Bridge.”
In the beginning, they were supporting a few small, local businesses, until the idea of making it “official” solidified. Since then, they’ve acquired every new client through word of mouth – with little to no marketing. They have two core principles – “serve others” and “walk in the light”. And they make it their mission to know each and every customer and be a part of their team.
Owner Cliff Peterson joked that his biggest problem is getting invited to too many holiday parties because people think he’s a part of their staff. The Chamber believes this is just a true testament that Infinite Bridge’s primary concern are the businesses and clients they serve.
They are involved in several community support efforts, as a corporate sponsor of Stepping Stones Shelter and Mother Seton Academy. During this pandemic, they purchased new systems for donation and often take decent systems that were excessed by clients and rebuild them for donation to families in need.
Infinite Bridge has been a Gaithersburg-Germantown Member for two years and has supported and continues to support us in many ways.
The GGCC is active in providing business-to-business networking opportunities throughout the year: a collective voice in local, regional, and state legislative affairs, professional development opportunities and other services that enhance the business environment.
