Black Bear Spotted in Silver Spring
Lisa Holland and her daughter were driving down Longmead Crossing Drive in Silver Spring at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday and saw a black bear running down the street. They watched as the bear ran behind a house near Argyle Country Club.
Here’s the video Holland’s daughter caught on her cell phone.
Just leave it alone. Someone’s gonna do something stupid, get hurt, then “government” will kill the bear. … Either catch & release it, .. or leaver it alone !
Great camera capture! Thanks mom and kids for your excitement and enthusiasm! Your video made my day!
Yes, please, for the love of Gaia, everyone stop freaking out and leave the bear alone. Probably wandered up from nearby Rock Creek Park, and will find it’s way back as long as no one scares the cr@p outta it or feeds it.
As we say in the back country, a fed bear is a dead bear. Same goes with a bear chased by people or dogs – that’ll have it running out into traffic in no time. Let’s see if we Marylanders can evolve to live in peace with our native megafauna. Please?
I do not hate animals, but it is the same when it’s your yard that a deadly animal is running through. No telling what would have happened if I had been in my yard cutting my bushes, or in my driveway starting my run.
Amazing that people don’t want a bear shot, but let it be a Black man running through the neighborhood and he’s shot, “justifiable”… DEAD. Smh.
