Biologists Survey Bat Population in Brookeville (VIDEO)
A contractor for the Maryland State Highway Administration, Skelly and Loy, Inc., recently conducted an environmental survey to assess the bat population in an area near the designated route of the Brookeville Bypass. MyMCMedia’s Sonya Burke reports that wildlife biologists were looking for the northern long-eared bat, a threatened species.
These biologists also conducted an acoustical bat survey in Gaithersburg near the I-270 Watkins Mill Road Interchange Project. Results from both surveys are not complete. You can find more information about the northern long eared bat, here.
