Bilingual Election Judges Needed (Video)

The Montgomery County Board of Elections is seeking bilingual voters to work at early voting sites and at polling places for the primary election. Early voting will be open from June 12 – June 19; primary Election Day is set for June 24.

Montgomery County Board of Elections recruits workers who speak dozens of languages for every election. Voters with Spanish speaking fluency are especially needed because the county places election judges who are fluent in Spanish at every polling place in accordance with the requirements of Section 203 of the 1975 Voting Rights Act. Bilingual election judges are needed for the primary Election Day, which is Tuesday, June 24, and during early voting every day from June 12 – June 19.

The Election Law of Maryland requires that election judges must be registered to vote in the State of Maryland, 17 years of age or older, and a U.S. citizen. Bilingual judges must also be able to speak, read and write in English. All election judges will be compensated for training and for Election Day service.
