Bike to Work Day with Valerie Ervin (Photos & Video)

UPDATED
Montgomery County Councilmember Valerie Ervin participates in Bike to Work Day on May 17 and she finds out her “neighbors are into it.” Take a look:

Bike to Work Day in Silver Spring was a blast for cyclists who participated.

The bike station – located near Wayne and Georgia Avenues – brought  many bikers from around the region who stopped by on the way to work. They picked up pamphlets educating them about pedestrian safety, to-go snacks, and won prizes.

The event cosponsored by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association had one message for bikers and drivers – respect each other.

This message comes on the heels of the Montgomery County Department of Transportation bikesharing program planned for downtown Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Friendship Heights, and Bethesda.

How will this bikesharing program affect your neighborhood? Tell us in the comment section below.
