Bethesda, Rockville Make List of “Snobbiest Cities” in America

Movoto, the real estate blog, has a new list out that’s become a hot topic in Montgomery County.
According to Movoto, two of the snobbiest small cities in America are Bethesda and Rockville.
Bethesda makes the Movoto list at number two and Rockville is tied for 8th place with Encinitas, California. The number one snobbiest small city in America, according to this list, is Palo Alto, California.
News of the list and the Montgomery County locales got swift reaction on the MyMCMedia Facebook page.
“I sense some writer envy and jealousy– the list should be renamed high education, high income, high culture,” said Rockville resident Paul Stankus on Facebook. “But click-bait like this would not sound the same if it called it anything else but snooty.”
Another Facebook comment on the MyMCMedia page: “They forgot Glen Echo, Potomac and Chevy Chase.”
