Bethesda Painting Awards Exhibit (Photo)

Paintings from the Bethesda Paintings Awards are on exhibit from June 1 – 29 at Gallery B, Bethesda. More than 350 artists from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. submitted work to the ninth annual competition created to exclusively honor regional painters. The exhibit includes work of the eight finalists.

A public opening will be held on June 14 from 6 – 9 p.m. in conjunction with the Bethesda Art Walk. Gallery B is located at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite E in downtown Bethesda. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 12 – 6 p.m.

Entries were juried by Tim Doud, Associate Professor of Art at American University; Duane Keiser, Acclaimed painter and art blogger and Christine Neill, Professor of Painting at Maryland Institute College of Art.

The eight finalists include Joan Belmar,Takoma Park, MD; Dennis Farber, Lutherville, MD; Christine Gray, Alexandria, VA; Hedieh Ilchi, Rockville, MD; Barry Nemett, Stevenson, MD; Cara Ober, Baltimore, MD; and Erin Raedeke – Gaithersburg, MD.
