Bethesda Painting Awards Announce Winners

The Bethesda Painting Awards announced the top four prize winners on June 5 during the exhibition’s opening at Gallery B. Barry Nemett of Stevenson, MD was awarded “Best in Show” with $10,000; Christine Gray of Alexandria, VA was named second place and was given $2,000 and Hedieh Ilchi of Rockville, MD received third place, and was awarded $1,000. The exhibit will be on display from now through June 29. Gallery B is located at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite E, Bethesda. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 12 – 6 p.m.

The eight artists selected as finalists are:

  • Joan Belmar – Takoma Park, MD
  • Dennis Farber – Lutherville, MD
  • Christine Gray – Alexandria, VA
  • Hedieh Ilchi – Rockville, MD
  • Barry Nemett – Stevenson, MD
  • Cara Ober – Baltimore, MD
  • Erin Raedeke – Gaithersburg, MD
  • Bill Schmidt – Baltimore, MD
