Bethesda Man Dies After Being Hit By Car in North Bethesda

UPDATED: Aug. 11 at 9 a.m. The 24-year-old Bethesda man hit by a car while trying to cross Rockville Pike in North Bethesda Aug. 6 died over the weekend.

Montgomery County Police said Matthew Aaron Papirmeister succumbed to his injuries over the weekend at Suburban Hospital.

ORIGINAL: It happened at approximately 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Executive Boulevard. According to a police account, an off-duty officer witnessed the collision.

The police investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike when he was struck by a Toyota Venza that was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike.   Police said the driver of the Toyota remained on the scene.

According to police, the pedestrian is a 24-year-old Bethesda man. He was transported to Suburban Hospital where police said he remains with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Venza has been identified by police as Madani Diallo, age 57, of Adelphi, Maryland.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation.
