UPDATE: Missing Teacher Found Safe, Unharmed

Update, Oct. 20, noon: Deborah Anne Celmer has been located safe and unharmed, according to a Montgomery County police statement.
Original post: An English teacher from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School has been reported missing by her family.
Deborah Anne Celmer, 41, of Rockville, was last seen by her family on Oct. 12 at 11 p.m., according to a police statement.
Celmer is described by police as “an Asian female, standing 5’3″ tall, and weighing approximately 150 pounds.” She has brown eyes and black hair, police say.
Police say Celmer might be using a blue 2003 Toyota Camry with Maryland tags that read 9CN5716.
Shelton Mooney, acting principal of B-CC High, emailed parents confirming reports that Celmer hasn’t shown up for work in several days.
“Staff at B-CC have been in contact with both the police and Ms. Celmer’s family to express our concern and provide any possible assistance in locating her,” Mooney said.
Mooney said the school’s counseling department is offering support to students and community members who find the news about Celmer difficult to process.
Police urge anyone with information about Celmer’s whereabouts to contact the non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.

Celmer, an English teacher at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, has been reported missing by her family. We understand that this news may be challenging for some students, staff, and community members to process. The B-CC Counseling department is available provide support to anyone who requests it. Likewise, the school system is prepared to provide additional supports if necessary.
We are very concerned about Ms. Celmer and are hopeful that this situation will have a positive outcome. I will provide an update when additional information is available.
