B-CC Chamber Choir to Perform at Hogan Inauguration

The Bethesda Chevy Chase High School Chamber Choir will be a part of Gov. Larry Hogan’s inauguration on Jan. 16.

The choir will perform during pre-inaugural entertainment starting at 9:30 a.m. on the Northwest Lawn Stage at the State House in Annapolis.

The school’s music department has earned two Grammy Foundation awards and is home to eight instrumental ensembles and three choral ensembles, including the Chamber Choir. This Facebook video shows the choir performing at this year’s Zoolights:

According to teacher Lisa Itkin, the ensemble specializes in a capella singing, and is the premier choral ensemble of BCC consisting of 10th-, 11th-, and 12th-graders. They have received superior ratings at district, state, and regional choral festivals and competitions, she writes.
