Ashman Could Run Unopposed in November

Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman could run unopposed in the city’s Nov. 7 election.

Friday was the last day for candidates to file their candidacies with the city. The city’s Board of Supervisors of Elections will certify all candidates on Sept. 26, said Lauren Klingler of the City Manager’s Office.

Other individuals who filed were Mike Sesma and Yvette Monroe, who are both city councilmembers seeking re-election; as well as Jim McNulty and Laurie-Ann Sayles. Ashman has been the city’s mayor since 2014.

The names of those certified will be released Wednesday, Sept. 27.
