The gallery is located at 311 Kent Square Road in Gaithersburg, with viewing hours Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to a free Artists’ Reception on Tuesday, June 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Founded in 1977, the Maryland Pastel Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to the promotion and development of professional, original works of art in the medium of soft pastel and to the creative and technical advancement of its members. Signature members of the Society will exhibit paintings done primarily in soft pastel, a centuries-old fine art medium consisting of pure pigments bound in stick form and applied to a painting surface, usually sanded or other specialty papers. Visitors will appreciate the unique beauty and vibrancy of pastel in a variety of genres, including landscape, still life and figures. The Maryland Pastel Society is the oldest state society and is an active member of the International Association of Pastel Societies.
