Arrest Made in Assault of Citizen at Taxi Stand

An arrest has been made by Montgomery County Police Detectives in the assault and robbery incident that occurred at the Silver Spring Metro Taxi Stand on May 27.

Montgomery County police of the Silver Spring Investigative Section and members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s 4th District arrested Elijah Jeremiah Smith, age 18, of Washington, DC, for the assault and robbery of a citizen in downtown Silver Spring during the early morning hours of May 27.

Police said a search warrant was conducted at the suspect’s residence and items of evidence related to the assault and robbery were recovered.
