Apartment Fire in Frederick
Frederick County fire and rescue units were called to an apartment fire overnight at 1465 Key Parkway that injured ten people.
According to a fire and rescue official, the first arriving units reported smoke showing from the rear of the building.
Authorities said a total of ten occupants were treated and transported to medical facilities, and four people were transported to area burn centers.
It took 40 firefighters about 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The fire displaced a total of 24 residents and six apartments were declared inhabitable, according to a fire official. The American Red Cross is helping the displaced residents with lodging.
So far, no word on the cause and origin of the fire.
