Annual Meeting for Montgomery County Sister Cities Program Planned for Thursday
Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will host an annual meeting on the County’s Sister City program on Thursday, March 24. The event is set to take place in Silver Spring at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at One Veterans Place.
U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador Mari Carmen Aponte will also join the meeting to discuss her experiences abroad. The Sister City program was established in 2006 to make connections between the world and Montgomery County, according to a news release. The event will celebrate cultures and food from the sister cities of Morazan, El Salvador, Gondar, Ethiopia, Xi’an, China and Hyperabad, India.
The event is planned to start at 6 p.m.
