American Flags on Display at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg
To honor local heroes and demonstrate community pride, more than 500 full-sized American flags are now on display through May 26 at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm.
The “Flags for Our Heroes” program is presented by the Montgomery Village Rotary Club in partnership with the City of Gaithersburg and it raises money to support local charities.
An opening ceremony took place on Saturday, May 24 and featured remarks by Mayor Sidney Katz and presentations by local community leaders.
The program pays tribute to past and present heroes, including members of the military, police, firefighters, teachers, coaches, mentors, and community leaders. The City of Gaithersburg’s Wells/Robertson House and CHARACTER COUNTS! program are among the many local charitable organizations that benefit from the program.
Flags for Our Heroes is a community service project of the Montgomery Village Rotary Club funded through contributions to the Montgomery Village Rotary Club Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity. For more information, contact the Montgomery Village Rotary Club or visit www.flagsforourheroes.org.
