Ama Tu Vida Fest Set for April 5 in Gaithersburg

Residents are invited to attend the Ama Tu Vida (Love Your Health) Health Festival on Saturday, April 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. The festival will be held at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg (next to Gaithersburg High School). The Latino Health Initiative, Montgomery County Recreation, Suburban Hospital and MobileMed are sponsoring the event.

“This event is part of an ongoing effort to inform and empower the community to adopt healthy lifestyles,” said Latino Health Initiative Program Manager Sonia Mora. “The County, along with the City of Gaithersburg, has combined efforts and this year is hosting a multicultural festival in Gaithersburg.”

The festival will include free blood pressure, cholesterol and vision screenings provided by local hospitals, community clinics and health organizations. Food will be available for purchase and fun activities will be happening throughout the event for adults and children.
