Alligator Fished Out of Koi Pond in Brookeville (PHOTOS & 9-1-1 AUDIO FILE)
It took three hours for authorities to remove a three-foot alligator from a Koi pond in Brookeville on Friday.
The alligator was reported to authorities shortly before 10 a.m. and the 9-1-1 caller seemed incredulous at what he had discovered in his backyard pond on Denit Estates Drive. You can listen to his call, here.
Officers from the Montgomery County Police Department, Animal Control and the Department of Natural Resources responded to the call – which was certainly not routine for officers as alligators are not native to this area.
After three hours of draining the pond, officers were able to remove the elusive gator. So far, there is no word about how it got there.
According to Montgomery County Police, the alligator was relocated to the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo in Frederick County.
