Action Committee for Transit Issues Statement on Purple Line
The Action Committee for Transit has released the following statement on the Purple Line delay:
“We are deeply disappointed by Friday evening’s announcement of a five month delay in awarding the contract for the Purple Line.
“Delay risks the loss of private and federal funding for an essential transit line. Maryland cannot afford to leave 900 million federal dollars on the table.
“The Purple Line will provide relief to commuters and create jobs for hard-pressed Marylanders. The time for Governor Hogan to get this project moving is now.”
