A United Disappointment?

Team USA usually ends both the summer and winter Olympics on top of the medal count. This year they are having trouble doing that. Even though the Team USA is tied for first they have the most bronze medals out of any country in the Olympics. Could this be a very mediocre year for Team USA? They have 17 medals in total but 9 of those are bronze. If this mediocre performance continues then they will probably find them self in third or fourth. Some of the athletes that were expected to medal didn’t like Shaun White. The US did find major success in Freestyle skiing where they swept the podium winning the Gold, Silver and Bronze. I don’t believe Team USA will continue winning mostly bronze medals. I believe they will see Gold in both hockey events (men and women). Russia has been favored in this game because they are the home team. In hockey there have been some calls that are questionable. The Russians played the Americans in hockey but didn’t win even though they were favored by the crowd and the experts. The Americans also had a lot of success in the Super G. Bode Miller and Andrew Weibrecht took home medals. Though Team USA hasn’t had the best start you should expect Gold in the near future.
