A Glimpse Into Rainbow Place, a Women’s Emergency Hypothermia Shelter

Rainbow Place has been opening its doors to homeless women ages 18 and older during cold winter months since 1982.

Although there are several women’s shelters throughout Montgomery County, Executive Director for the Rainbow Place, Nancy Sushinsky says what makes Rainbow Place unique is that it’s one of the only women’s emergency hypothermia shelters available in the county.

The mission of Rainbow Place is to provide women emergency overnight shelter during the winter months and assist them as they transition to a better quality of life.
