A Fourth Suspect Arrested in Connection with Gaithersburg Park Homicide
A fourth individual has been charged in the death of Antonio Villagran-Morales, 18, who was killed June 17 at Malcolm King Park, 1200 West Side Drive, Gaithersburg, a Montgomery County police statement reads.
Josue Fermin Caudra-Quintanilla, 18, of Hyattsville, was arrested Friday, Feb. 3, and has been charged with first-degree murder, police said. He is being held without bail.
Police said three others had previously been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the case:
- Vanesa Alvarado, 19, of Lakeworth Drive in Gaithersburg, who was arrested July 1;
- Oscar Ernesto Delgado-Perez, of an unconfirmed address, who was arrested Sept. 7; and
- A Gaithersburg juvenile who was arrested July 1 and who is being charged as an adult.
Police said detectives continue to look for fifth person, Jose Coreas Ventura, also known as Josue Corea, 20, and ask that anyone with information immediately call the Montgomery County Police Department at 301-279-8000 (24/7 line).
Police believe the homicide to be gang-related. All five suspects are believed to be associated with the criminal gang MS-13, and Alvarado and Gutierrez-Vasquez, upon their arrest, stated to detectives that they believed the victim to be a member of a rival gang, police said.
In September when Delgado-Perez was arrested, police said the victim had met with Alvarado and that the two were communicating via telephone. The two met June 16. A police statement from the time said officers believe Alvarado expected a sexual encounter. Alvarado then lured the victim to the wooded area of the park, where the suspects stabbed him several times, police said.
To be eligible for a reward, tipsters must call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Callers to Crime Solvers will remain anonymous. Jose Coreas Ventura (see wanted poster below) should be considered armed and dangerous.
