Ladder Truck Damaged

A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) ladder truck was damaged during an incident on June 10 at 10 Mile Creek.
According to a press release, fire rescue units were dispatched at 6:30 p.m. to West Old Baltimore Road for a possible car in flood waters  with a report of persons trapped in the vehicle.
At 7:35 p.m.,  100′ Aerial Platform proceeded towards the flood and came upon the victims. During the response, the Aerial Platform became stranded in the rapidly rising water and had to be abandoned for the safety of the crew, according to the release. The truck was towed out and returned to the MCFRS fleet section for inspection and repairs. The driver and officer have been placed on routine administrative leave with pay pending an internal investigation. There were no injuries.
