Spring Gala at Strathmore (Video)

The Spring Gala at Strathmore features Michael Feinstein performing the music of George and Ira Gershwin at the Music Center, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda on April 19 at 9 p.m. Tickets for Feinstein’s performance are $40 – $105 and may be purchased by calling 301.581.5100 or visiting www.strathmore.org.

The Gala at Strathmore is the arts center’s signature fundraising event. Proceeds directly support Strathmore’s programming initiatives such as the Visual Art Exhibitions program and Music in the Mansion; performances from world-class artists and musicians; education and artistic programs such as the Artist in Residence program and the Strathmore Student Concerts, which introduce 20,000 students annually to classical music; and free community events and festivals. The gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner, concert with Michael Feinstein and an after party with Big Ray and the Kool Kats. The seated dinner in the Music Center at Strathmore is paired for the first time in 2013 with an intimate buffet dinner in the Mansion, providing a new way for patrons to enjoy Strathmore’s signature evening.

Drinks, dancing and desserts will follow Feinstein’s performance at the after party with Big Ray and the Kool Kats, performing hits from Beyoncé to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, spanning a palette of genres including Top 40, jazz, R&B, swing and Motown. Complimentary wine and beer will be served.
