Police Investigate Serious Pedestrian Accident

Collision reconstruction unit detectives are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred in the Silver Spring area this morning (March 7).

At approximately 9:31 A.M., Montgomery County police and fire units responded to a call for a pedestrian struck on Colesville Road near Noyes Drive.

According to police,  a silver 2005 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Colesville Road.  Police said the Honda struck a 75-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing Colesville Road from east to west just north of Noyes Drive.

Police have identified the pedestrian as John Skelton Williams of Silver Spring. Police said he was transported to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Police have identified the driver of the Honda as Dennis Stewart of Columbia.

The circumstances surrounding this accident remain under investigation.
