Council VP to Hold Germantown Town Hall Meeting

Montgomery County Council Vice President Craig Rice, who represents District 2 that includes much of the Upcounty area, will meet with residents of Germantown starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, at the Black Rock Arts Center to discuss a variety of issues that concern area residents.

The meeting will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the arts center, which is located at 12901 Town Commons Drive in Germantown Town Center.

Among the issues Councilmember Rice will discuss is the continued development in Germantown, including the future new hospital being built on the Montgomery College campus in Germantown. He will also address issues related to transportation, schools and crime.

“Germantown itself continues to grow and evolve, but we are also being impacted by the growth of communities immediately to our south—like Gaithersburg—and immediately to our north—like Clarksburg and Frederick,” said Councilmember Rice. “We must work to help the neighborhoods and businesses already in Germantown. But we also must be aware that the growth of these other communities will impact Germantown, starting by putting more vehicles on the road. I want people to bring us their concerns—and their suggestions.”

For more information about the community meeting, call 240-777-7955 or e-mail Councilmember Rice at: Councilmember.Rice@MontgomeryCountyMD.gov .
