Candidates and HD
What a busy week for us here at MCM! The studios have been buzzing with activity this week and that is due to MCM’s Candidates’ Spotlight. This is one of the first major productions we have done since Studio B was transitioned to HD. I would have to say it was a success! We invite the candidates to come in and record a 4 minute statement that will appear on the Montgomery Channel (21), Access 19 as well as mymcmedia.org in the next coming weeks. Make sure you keep an eye out beginning the week of October 22 to see the statements. You can also check out our Vote 2012 page for election coverage.
The new HD transition makes for a few changes that not only our volunteers, but MCM’s staff are getting used to. There are two pieces of equipment/positions that are totally new. They are CG and VTR positions. Our CG (computer graphics) program has changed from Inscriber to Xpressions. (This is a really cool program with A LOT of new ways to do graphics.) Instead of using DVCPro tapes, we are now using SSDs (Solid State Drive) to record all of programs in Studio B. Some of the procedures have changed, so all of Active and Certified Studio Technicians are more than welcome to sign up for the free workshops that are being offered. If you are not a certified Studio Technician, we are offering our classes again in January. You can see all of the classes we offer HERE.
As I have stated before, exciting things are happening at MCM and you definitely want to be a part of it!
