Pitch Across Maryland

Montgomery County entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their business plans, interact with other promising entrepreneurs and learn from business experts as Montgomery County hosts three stops of the Startup Maryland Bus.  Pitch Across Maryland is a nearly three-week tour that kicks off today on the Startup Maryland bus, traveling to all corners of the state in celebration of entrepreneurship.

Videotaped pitches during the three stops in Montgomery County will be entered into a state-wide competition with finalists getting a chance to make a live pitch at the Maryland Entrepreneur Expo on November 13^th at the BWI Marriott.  The tour will culminate in a celebration at Merriweather Post Pavilion on September 28^th.

“We are delighted to work with Startup Maryland to help showcase the breadth of emerging and established entrepreneurs Montgomery County is so proud to have located here,” said Montgomery County Department of Economic Development Director Steve Silverman.  “To have successful entrepreneurs such as Seth Goldman of HonestTea and Richard Bendis of BioHealth Innovation, Inc., share their experience and expertise is very exciting and will undoubtedly spur more entrepreneurship in the County and throughout Maryland.”

The bus tour will make the following stops in Montgomery County:

–         September 24 -12:30-4:00 pm at the Bethesda Green Incubator (4825 Cordell Avenue, Bethesda);

–         September 25 – 9:30-11:30 am at the William E. Hanna Innovation Center at Shady Grove (9700 Great Seneca Highway, Rockville, MD 20850);

–         September 28 – 9:00-11:30 am at the Mid-Atlantic Bio Conference – Montgomery County Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda)
