At his Sept. 10 press conference, Montgomery County Council President Roger Berliner talked about an upcoming committee meeting this week with WSSC following the loss of power on June 29 from the derecho. He said the discussion will focus on what has to happen to make sure the water company does not lose power again. According to Berliner: “We were hours away from not being able to respond to a fire,” following the June 29 derecho.
