Elrich On Reopening: ‘Just Because We’re Getting Better Doesn’t Mean We’re Done With This’

Montgomery County will look more “normal” soon. Local leaders say now that 50% of residents are fully vaccinated, the county is 10 days away from aligning with state guidance and entering Phase 3 of reopening on May 28.

This means all capacity and distancing restrictions will be lifted for indoor and outdoor businesses and venues in the county. However, this doesn’t mean the virus has disappeared according to county officials who say there’s still more work to be done.

“Just because we’re getting better, doesn’t mean we’re done with this,” said Elrich during his weekly virtual media briefing on Wednesday.

Elrich explains what the county will look like during the next phase of reopening.
