Montgomery County Woman Wins $1.4 Million Lottery Prize

Talk about having a good day. A Rockville woman won the Maryland Lottery on April 22 and became $1.4 million richer.

The 20-year-old, whose name was not identified by the Maryland Lottery, purchased the Multi-Match quick-pick ticket for the April 22 drawing at the Giant grocery store located at 625 Hungerford Drive in Rockville.

“I just got lucky. I was very surprised, I was not expecting it at all,” the woman said in a Maryland Lottery press release.

She told lottery officials that she plans to invest her winnings.

The Rockville resident won the second of the three Multi-Match jackpots hit in 2021. A Baltimore County woman won a $2.75 million jackpot on Feb. 4 on a ticket sold by 7-Eleven #32287 in Owings Mills. And, a Multi-Match subscriber just won a $520,000 jackpot in the May 3 drawing.

The Giant in Rockville earns a $1,400 bonus from the lottery for selling the winning ticket.
