8-Year Old Cavanaugh Bell from Gaithersburg Awarded Citation by Gov. Hogan

Gov. Larry Hogan issued an official citation to Cavanaugh Bell of Gaithersburg for his activism and philanthropy.

Also known as Cool & Doop, Bell may only be eight years old but he already has helped many people by collecting and delivering food and care packages to seniors and growing his own anti-bullying movement. He is no stranger to doing good deeds and recently received spotlight treatment during President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Hogan, during a virtual call last week, told Bell he was #MarylandStrong and what he has accomplished is “very, very special.”

As Hogan honored the young man, Bell gasped and covered his mouth with his hand in total surprise.

During the inauguration festivities, Bell told a large national television audience, “I spread positivity to inspire others to change the world.” He declared, “That’s why love wins.”
