Maryland Reports Nine New COVID-19 Deaths, One in Montgomery County

Tuesday morning, the Maryland Department of Health reported 121 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. Since the first case confirmed in March, the cumulative case count for the county is now 23,817.

The county has a rolling seven-day average of 2.33% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a lower rate than 14 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.

Tuesday the health department reported one new COVID-19 death in Montgomery County, bringing the pandemic death toll to 816.

Montgomery County and Prince George’s County led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities, both with a death toll of 816. Prince George’s County, however, has recorded over seven thousand more coronavirus cases in total since March.


Tuesday the state recorded 482 new infections, bringing its total to 132,343. Nine new deaths were reported Tuesday, making the pandemic death toll 3,868. Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, and Montgomery County all reported one new death; Baltimore and Prince George’s Counties recorded two new deaths Tuesday. The state did not have information on two of the nine deaths.

The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 2.87% for positive COVID-19 tests Friday.
