Montgomery County Records 100 New COVID-19 Cases, 1 Death Friday

Friday morning the Maryland Department of Health reported 100 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. That brings the cumulative case count since the start of the pandemic to 20,993.

With a lower rate than 14 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions, the county had a rolling seven-day average of 3.17% for positive COVID-19 tests.

Montgomery County has led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities, adding one more on Friday for a pandemic total of 793. Prince George’s County, however, has logged over 6,000 more cases in total since March.

The state recorded 646 new infections Friday, bringing its total to 114,724. Six new deaths were reported, making the pandemic death toll 3,685. Maryland’s seven-day rolling average for test positivity was 3.76%.
