Washington Post: Three Montgomery County Nursing Homes Fined During Health Crisis

Maryland found significant issues in three nursing homes in the county that placed residents in “immediate jeopardy”  during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new article in The Washington Post.

Maryland inspectors recently completed a COVID-19 survey of all nursing homes. Collingswood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockville was fined $275,000, Potomac Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center also in Rockville was fined $120,000, and Kensington Healthcare Center was fined $294,000, according to The Washington Post.

According to The Washington Post, all three homes failed to isolate residents when that may have been contagious with COVID-19. According to state data, more than 270 residents from the three nursing homes have contracted COVID-19 and 78 residents have died from the disease.
