Maryland COVID-19 Cases Pass 26,000; Montgomery County Cases Near 5,400
Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics
As of Monday, the Maryland Department of Health reports 5,384 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 234 cases from the 5,150 reported Sunday.
The health department reports that 274 county residents have died from COVID-19. This is an increase of 6 deaths since Sunday. The number of probable deaths is 27.
There are 1,099 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents and staff of senior living facilities and 149 deaths in the county. This is unchanged since Friday.
Maryland COVID-19 Statistics
As of Monday morning, there were 26,408 confirmed cases throughout the state. That is an increase of 946 cases in the last 24 hours. There were 1,216 deaths, an increase of 34.
In Maryland, 5,199 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak of COVID-19. On Monday, 1,649 Marylanders were hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 14 greater than Sunday. Of the 1,649 currently hospitalized patients, 563 are in an Intensive Care Unit.
A total of 9,147 cases and 503 deaths involve the state’s African American community. That is three additional deaths since Sunday.
There have been 4,707 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 533 deaths in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state. This number includes residents and staff and has been unchanged since Friday.
